Why Engineering Matters in Heat Shrink

A generic shrink wrap machine often fails to deliver consistent heat distribution. ALF PACK utilizes advanced thermodynamics to ensure your heat shrink finish is flawless, reducing film waste and energy costs.

Guide: Understanding Types of Shrink Tunnel

1. Hot Air Shrink vs. Radiant Heat

Choosing between a hot air shrink system (Convection) and radiant heat (Infrared) is vital.

  • Convection (Hot Air): Uses blower motors to circulate air. Ideal for standard shrink packaging as it heats the film evenly around complex shapes.
  • Radiant Heat: Uses line-of-sight energy. Often found in older or cheaper tunnels, but can cause “hot spots” if not carefully managed.

Integration Tip: Bar Sealers

Most of our tunnels are designed to pair seamlessly with an L-Bar or Side Bar Sealer. This combination creates a complete “Seal and Shrink” production line.

2. Application Specifics

Different products require different tunnel configurations:

  • Retail Boxes: Require high clarity POF film and gentle airflow.
  • Heat Tunnel for Shrink Sleeves: Essential for shrink labeling on containers. These tunnels often use steam or specific hot air zones to prevent label distortion.
  • Tamper Evident Bands: Used for safety seals on jars/pharmaceuticals. Requires a focused heat zone (Heat Gun style or narrow tunnel).
  • Heat Shrink Tunnel for Bottles: Usually requires a heavy duty conveyor and cooling fans to set the thick PE film rapidly.

From Blueprint to Production: Our Workflow

We don’t just sell machines; we engineer the shrinking process.

Bottle Analysis

Send us your bottle & label samples. We analyze the geometry to determine the required steam zoning.

Lab Testing

We run your samples in our test lab. You receive a video report and the finished physical samples.

Manufacturing

Machine assembly in our Suzhou plant (ISO 9001 controlled). Lead time: 15-20 days.

FAT (Factory Acceptance)

You (or a 3rd party) verify the machine running at full speed via video call or on-site visit.

Global Install

We ship securely. Our engineers are available for overseas setup and staff training.

Watch how does Pe Film Heat Shrink Pack Machine work

A PE Film Heat Shrink Pack Machine works by wrapping products in polyethylene (PE) shrink film and then applying controlled heat so the film shrinks tightly around the items, forming a secure and protective package.

Engineering FAQ

Answers from our technical team.

🔧 Technical Questions

How do I prevent water spots on clear labels?

Water spots occur when wet steam hits the bottle. The ZBS series includes a Steam-Water Separator at the inlet to ensure “dry steam.” Additionally, we recommend maintaining stable boiler pressure (0.3MPa) to prevent condensation surges.

Can I use one machine for different bottle sizes?
Yes. The steam spray bars are adjustable in height, width, and angle. You can switch from a 300ml round bottle to a 1L square bottle in about 10-15 minutes without needing tools. We provide position rulers for quick repeatability.
What is the consumption of steam?
For the ZBS-83A standard model, steam consumption is approximately 25-35 kg/hour depending on the speed. We recommend a 24KW electric steam generator for dedicated use.
Does it work with empty bottles?
Yes, but shrinking on empty plastic bottles requires precise temperature control to avoid deforming the bottle itself. Our tunnels have a “Low-Temp Mode” specifically for empty PET bottles.

📦 Shipping & Service

Do you provide installation in the USA/Europe?
Yes. We have visa-ready engineers who can travel globally for installation and commissioning (7-10 days typically). For smaller machines, many clients opt for our detailed video installation guide to save costs.
What is the lead time for manufacturing?
Standard models (ZBS-83A) are often in stock or require 10-15 days. Customized high-speed lines (DZBS-1135) typically require 25-30 working days for production and FAT testing.
How do you handle spare parts?
Every machine ships with a “2-Year Spare Parts Kit” (including heaters, gaskets, valves). For urgent needs, we ship via DHL/FedEx International Priority, reaching most countries in 3-5 days.
Can I see the machine running before I buy?
Absolutely. We encourage you to send us 20-30 sample bottles. We will film a high-res video of the shrinking process specifically for your product and send the physical results back to you for inspection.
